Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with nursing principles, using sound clinical judgment.
• Monitor, assess, document, and report patient status; implement and coordinate patient care plans with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor effects and educate patients and families.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and caregivers; participate in care coordination and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate medical records, apply safety precautions, and respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of common safety hazards, medical terminology, and basic coding guidelines as applicable to the setting.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Licensure: Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
• Certification: Meets the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and renews every two years.
• Experience: One year nursing experience preferred.
• Skills: Ability to read, interpret and follow written and verbal instructions; effective communication; ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment; basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Availability: Ability to work the listed shift and adapt to a dynamic clinical setting.
