Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical RN to provide comprehensive patient care on a Med/Surg unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be comfortable managing a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for a variety of diagnoses including CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-op surgery, and pediatrics.
• Administer medications, including titratable infusions such as cardiac drips and insulin, following protocols and safety standards.
• Monitor patient status utilizing ICU monitors and read telemetry strips accurately; collaborate with telemetry staff as needed.
• Utilize Epic electronic health records system for documentation and order entry.
• Assist with patient assessments, coordinate treatments, and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fnally, support unit operations by floating to other units when needed and complying with shift and holiday schedules.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years' Med/Surg experience with strong patient care skills.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS required for all RNs and LPNs; ACLS and PALS recommended.
• Ability to manage multiple patient diagnoses and adapt to rapid documentation requirements.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records preferred.
• Flexibility to float across units and work 12-hour shifts.
