Audiology Technician

Job Details Department: 05570 AMG Sheboygan - Audiology Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours per Week: 40 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00‑5:30pm; Thursday OFF; hours may vary with departmental needs) Pay Range: $22.90 – $34.35 Major Responsibilities Assists patients using appropriate techniques to perform minor hearing aid repairs, cleanings, and programming; sends hearing aids for difficult or extensive repair; orders new hearing aids as directed. Assists audiologist in direct patient care as needed. Communicates with audiologist and other healthcare team members; documents and conveys accurate, timely information regarding patient questions and needs. Performs occupational health hearing tests and counseling per site requirements. Provides office support, including scheduling appointments, preparing exam rooms, cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, checking equipment, managing referrals and prior authorizations, and processing work queues. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to patient age; interpret patient data to identify requirements and provide care per department policies. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) certification from CAOHC, to be obtained within 2 years. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, required immediately unless otherwise deemed unnecessary. Audiology Assistant Certification from Nova Southeastern University, to be obtained within 1 year, or Audiology Assistant Certification from ASHA, to be obtained within 1 year. Education Required High School Graduate. Experience Required No experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Thorough knowledge of occupational hearing standards. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinic setting. Excellent communication skills; ability to explain tests and procedures to patients. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and electronic medical records systems. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently. Must lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards, and blood and body fluids; must wear protective clothing or equipment as necessary. Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
