Make an impact this school year by providing expert speech-language pathology services to elementary students as part of a dedicated special education team. This full-time, full school year contract role focuses on supporting young learners while guiding and supervising SLPAs at an elementary campus located in the Burleson area. The caseload consists of approximately 70-80 students per campus, offering both clinical and leadership experience. The position has an itinerant focus, serving students across multiple sites within the district.
Your expertise will help shape communication outcomes for children in a positive, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate enjoys variety in their work setting and is skilled in seamlessly managing caseload priorities while nurturing professional growth among supervised staff.
What we’re seeking:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Currently licensed SLP with ASHA CCCs
- Previous experience working in schools (elementary experience strongly preferred)
- Must be comfortable supervising SLPAs and overseeing therapy programs on an elementary campus
- Familiar with IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities
- Comfortable working an itinerant schedule (travel between campuses)
- Please note: virtual (voco) positions are not available for this role
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide direct therapy to elementary students
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with education staff and families
- Supervise and mentor SLPAs, ensuring compliance and high-quality services
- Maintain thorough records and manage caseload responsibilities
- Engage in collaborative team meetings and educational initiatives
