This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern GIS tools, contribute to impactful projects, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, utility-focused environment.What You'll DoMaintain and update accurate geospatial data for electric distribution assets—including poles, transformers, conductors, switches, and meters—within an ESRI GIS platformEnsure the GIS database reflects real-world conditions by validating, auditing, and correcting dataCreate and update detailed maps and schematics to support engineering teams, operations, and field crewsPartner with field teams to integrate GPS and mobile data collection into GIS systemsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between field conditions and system recordsSupport planning, outage management, asset tracking, and system reliability through GIS analysisAssist in visualizing network upgrades and expansions using ArcGIS toolsPrepare reports and documentation using Microsoft Office toolsCollaborate cross-functionally with engineers, operations teams, and fellow GIS professionalsWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalentOne of the following: Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related fieldGIS Certificate2+ years of hands-on GIS experienceExperience working with ESRI ArcGISProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with ArcGIS ProKnowledge of electric distribution systems or utility infrastructureUtility industry experienceFamiliarity with CAD softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience working with GPS and mobile data collection toolsWork Environment & FlexibilityStandard schedule: Monday–Friday, ~40 hours/weekInitial on-site training (~3 months) in Birmingham, AL 4 days/week and 1 day remote.
