School Food Service Worker/Assistant

This position is in a fast paced, commercial kitchen setting, where meals are prepared daily for the students and faculty. The employee would be assigned duties pertaining to the preparation of food, serving food, and operating the cash register. Proper food handling is a requirement and following all HACCP regulations is mandatory. A friendly and positive attitude is a must. General Description

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist in cafeteria functions such as food preparation, serving, cleaning, etc. as directed.

Primary Duties

Helps prepare food items for specified schools. Helps serve food to students. Washes dishes and cleans food service area. Maintains an effective working relationship with coworkers. Maintains high standards of work habits, sanitation and safety. Understands and follows oral and written directions.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education Requirements refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of standard health standards and regulations as they apply to food preparation and service.

Licenses Certifications Registrations Required refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position. Appropriate State of Florida professional certification as required and applicable

Experience Requirements refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position. No experience necessary just a short demonstration of work procedures is required. A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
