Work Environment

As a Home-Based Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will operate primarily in diverse home settings throughout Richmond, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Designing individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and diagnostic assessments to enhance muscle function and mobility.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of each child's physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and coordination, to inform therapy strategies.
• Overseeing and guiding the Physical Therapy Assistants on your case, ensuring accurate implementation of all treatment modalities outlined in the care plan.
• Administering therapeutic exercises and functional activities tailored to each child's needs, while also providing motivational support.
• Caring for clients through manual therapies, such as traction and massage, to alleviate pain and promote recovery.
• Adjusting and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices as required, collaborating with physicians for necessary modifications.
• Maintaining comprehensive clinical records (including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries) for each patient, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Participating in case conferences with interdisciplinary team members to streamline treatment planning and execution.
• Insisting on preventive measures and interventions to promote independence within the child's home environment, offering guidance and support to families.
• Completing all clinical and administrative documentation accurately and promptly while adhering to branch policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on pediatric clients, including infants, toddlers, and school-aged children with various musculoskeletal conditions, developmental delays, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. Your engagement with families and caregivers will be crucial to fostering a solid support system for each child's growth and development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure in good standing to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• A valid CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for travel between patient homes.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with children and their families.

Preferred Experience
