Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA implements selected patient interventions, collects data related to treatments, and adjusts interventions to promote patient progress and ensure safety and comfort. The role involves working with patients of all ages across inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings, requiring strong communication and technical skills. Responsibilities:

Assist physical therapist in treatment of patients with medical or health-related conditions affecting movement and function. Implement selected components of patient interventions as directed by the physical therapist. Obtain and document data related to interventions provided. Modify selected interventions to progress patients or ensure safety and comfort as directed. Communicate effectively with employees, physicians, visitors, and administration. Operate equipment and perform technical procedures related to physical therapy services. Required Skills & Certifications:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current credentialing by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board. Verification of current Basic Life Support (BLS) instruction. Minimum of two years of experience, preferably with outpatient focus. Strong communication and judgment skills. Mental demands include effective communication and independent judgment in diverse situations. Physical demands include competency in operating equipment and performing technical procedures. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible. Scheduling:

Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work environment is a clean, well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned rehabilitation gymnasium.
