Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

General Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver physical therapy services under the guidance and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PTA will implement specific components of patient interventions, collect data related to these interventions, and make adjustments to treatment plans as instructed by the physical therapist, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
• Support individuals with medical conditions or health-related issues that limit their mobility and functional capabilities.
• Provide care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, and home health environments.

Accountability

The Physical Therapist Assistant will report directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.

Special Demands

• Mental: Excellent communication skills required for interaction with employees, physicians, visitors, administration, and the public. Ability to adapt to various job situations involving diverse individuals and projects, demonstrating independent judgment.
• Physical: Competency in operating necessary equipment, performing technical procedures, and delivering professional communication. Must exercise supervisory and management skills.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current credentialing from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board.
• Verification of current training in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in physical therapy, preferably with an emphasis on outpatient care.
• Bi-lingual capabilities are advantageous.

Working Environment

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position is located in a state-of-the-art, newly constructed rehabilitation gymnasium that offers a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled environment. The role may involve exposure to unpleasant sights, odors, and infectious diseases.
