Job Summary:

Labor and Delivery Nursing Specialist in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. This position involves providing high-risk labor and delivery care for patients throughout the childbirth process, with a focus on supporting both routine and complex obstetric cases. The role requires delivering exemplary patient care adhering to facility protocols and clinical standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in Kansas or a compact license, at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, BLS (Basic Life Support), AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are required to be in hand at the time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with charge responsibilities, community hospital experience, and proficiency with electronic charting systems such as Epic.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include managing labor and postpartum patients, assisting with high-risk deliveries, performing obstetric assessments, and supporting neonatal stabilization procedures. The role involves caring for neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults, with a focus on high-risk labor conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiple gestations. Travel compliance RTO (Request for Time Off) must be listed at the time of submittal. Travelers are expected to float to like units as needed, and orientation consists of onsite modules totaling 4-6 hours for RN and 2-3 hours for allied health staff.
