Human Resources Associate

Part-time, on-site HR and payroll support role for day-to-day people operations at Preferred Electric in Bloomingdale, IL. Responsibilities Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation with accuracy and confidentiality Support onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork, employment forms, and internal checklists Assist with benefits administration by supporting employee enrollment paperwork, eligibility updates, and general benefit questions Track required employee documentation, certifications, and other compliance-related forms Provide union administrative support, including maintaining union employee documentation, tracking required forms, and coordinating paperwork tied to union benefits, dues, and compliance Support HR communications and employee notices, plus general administrative support for the HR department Answer routine employee questions and elevate sensitive or complex matters to the HR Manager Assist with weekly payroll preparation by reviewing and organizing hours, payroll changes, and supporting documentation Enter and verify payroll-related data to help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing Maintain payroll records, including employee deductions, direct deposit information, and tax-related forms Support union payroll documentation by organizing hours, classifications, deductions, fringe benefit information, and related reporting materials Coordinate with employees and supervisors to resolve basic timekeeping and payroll documentation questions Provide general administrative support to Accounting, HR, and management as needed Requirements Payroll experience: 3 years (Required) Union reporting experience: 3 years (Required) Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Basic understanding of payroll processes, timekeeping, employee records, and HR documentation (preferred) Familiarity with union employee documentation, collective bargaining agreement requirements, or union payroll support (preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office , especially Excel , Word , and Outlook Strong organizational skills, including managing deadlines, following up on missing information, and prioritizing multiple tasks Clear written and verbal communication skills with an employee-service-oriented approach High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or Business Administration (preferred) Technologies Microsoft Office Excel Word Outlook Benefits Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) policy and paid holidays Quarterly Support Staff Bonus Program enrollment 401(k) program with company match Health insurance through IBEW Local 701 Dental and vision insurance through IBEW Local 701 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Location and Work Details Work location: In person Location: Bloomingdale, IL 60108 (Required) On-site: Bloomingdale, IL Type: Part-Time, On-site Hours: Average 30 hours per week Potential: May transition to Full-Time Reports to: HR Manager Salary $20-$25 per hour (based on relevant experience) Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
