Consultant-Attorney, Business & Legal Affairs

Overview Lionsgate is seeking an experienced music attorney to work in its music legal and music business affairs departments. The successful candidate should have experience handling a wide range of music agreements. This person will work with and provide counsel and advice to applicable company executives on music issues. Responsibilities Negotiation, drafting, administration and management to conclusion of various music agreements and other documents for the creation and/or exploitation of original and/or licensed musical compositions and recordings for use in motion picture, television and new media projects. Provide all music legal and business affairs services to the TV Music and Film Music departments. Advise and help problem-solve music issues with other client groups including Acquisitions, Co-Productions, Legal Delivery, Credits, Marketing, Home Entertainment, Location-Based Entertainment, International and Post-Production. Qualifications and Skills Experience working with composer, producer, artist, songwriter, music supervisor and publishing agreements as well as synchronization and master use licenses Effective time management skills are essential, with the ability to balance multiple matters concurrently in a challenging fast-paced environment J.D. degree and membership in good standing with the State Bar of California Nice to Haves Experience working with a law firm, studio, record label or music publisher handling music issues is preferred but not mandatory.
