About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial & Administrative Officer (CFAO) to join its Senior Leadership team. The CFAO will be a strategic, operational, and results-oriented leader with a strong background in financial strategy, operations, and administrative functions. This role is pivotal in driving organizational efficiency and requires a candidate with a proven track record in managing financial strategy and operations, as well as overseeing administrative functions to support the mission of the organization. The CFAO will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, and must be adept at partnering with program leaders to measure financial performance and optimize resource allocation. Additionally, the CFAO will lead a team that includes finance, HR, and operations, and will be expected to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development. The ideal candidate for the CFAO position at the company will have a passion for its mission and values, a Bachelor's degree and CPA, with an advanced degree being a plus. A minimum of 10 years' experience in nonprofit finance, including at least 3 years in a CFO role, is required. The candidate should have a strong foundation in accounting, audit, and compliance, and a proven record of developing and sustaining financial systems and processes that support organizational growth. Experience in managing large public sector grant portfolios and overseeing HR and operations functions in a complex, mission-driven organization is strongly preferred. The CFAO must be an inspirational, hands-on leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and leading through influence. Proficiency in technology, including financial and accounting tools, is essential, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is a must.
