Assistant Controller

Role Description The Assistant Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role manages the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable oversight, and month-end and year-end closing activities. The Assistant Controller prepares and reviews financial statements, reconciliations, and internal reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The role also assists with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis, as well as implementing and improving internal controls and financial processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, support for audits, and participation in system and process enhancements are key aspects of the day-to-day responsibilities. Qualifications Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial statement preparation and taxes. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes in a multi-entity or multi-division environment. Proficiency with Quickbooks online, ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis. Ability to analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide clear financial insights to leadership. Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations, sales, and leadership teams. Experience supporting audits and implementing or maintaining internal controls and process improvements. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus. Prior experience in a controller, assistant controller, senior accountant, or similar role, ideally within design, manufacturing, luxury goods, or related industries. Why Join Domingue & Co.?
