Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with special needs in an educational community dedicated to their growth and success! Several onsite contract opportunities are open for passionate and dedicated Special Education professionals in the area for the upcoming school year, spanning from early August through mid-May. With multiple vacancies across K/1 and middle school classrooms, these roles are best suited for educators eager to collaborate and make a difference—particularly in moderate classes working closely with students diagnosed with autism.
Qualifications/Experience Desired:
- Active Louisiana Special Education (SPED) certification or a valid Louisiana teaching license with willingness to pursue SPED certification
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and differentiated instruction
- Outstanding communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and adaptive materials to foster engagement and learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Safeguard the well-being of all students and promote an atmosphere of respect and belonging
