A confidential plaintiff-side employment litigation practice is seeking a mid-to-senior level litigator (approximately 5 to 10 years of experience) to join its wage and hour litigation docket. This opportunity is designed for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility on complex matters, including class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and related state law claims, and who enjoys owning cases through the full litigation lifecycle.

THE ROLE

- Manage wage and hour matters from early case development through resolution

- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and settlement-related briefing

- Lead discovery strategy, including written discovery, document review coordination, and meet-and-confer efforts

- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate deposition strategy

- Appear in court for hearings and arguments as needed

- Support mediations and settlement negotiations and assist with trial or arbitration preparation and presentation

- Collaborate with briefing attorneys and litigation support staff to drive deadlines and case milestones

Location:

Texas (Houston area)

Schedule:

Primarily in-office (4 days per week)

Compensation:

Base salary range: $150,000 to $200,000

REQUIREMENTS

- 5 to 10 years of significant litigation experience (plaintiff-side experience is helpful)

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Active Texas bar admission in good standing

- Experience prosecuting or defending class actions or collective actions (or closely related complex litigation)

- Hands-on experience with depositions and in-court advocacy, including hearings and oral argument

- Strong motion practice and legal writing skills, with comfort managing matters beyond a briefing-only role

- Ability to manage a busy docket with a high degree of independence

- Demonstrated stability and progression in prior roles

- Willingness to work primarily in-office and average approximately 50 hours per week

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

- Plaintiff-side wage and hour or employment litigation experience, including Fair Labor Standards Act claims (misclassification, off-the-clock, overtime, and related theories)

- Ability to develop strategy and execute briefing end-to-end

- Trial or arbitration presentation experience (including evidentiary arguments)

- Interest in mentoring or supporting the development of junior attorneys and staff
