A confidential U.S. law firm is seeking a senior, partner-level labor and employment attorney to join its Texas-based practice with a primary focus in the Houston market. This is a management-side, defense-focused role combining employment litigation with practical day-to-day counseling for employer clients, offering a strong platform for an attorney who values client leadership, strategic ownership of matters, and a collaborative in-office team environment.

THE ROLE

• Defend employers in labor and employment disputes, including single-plaintiff and complex matters

• Serve as a strategic advisor to management on workplace risk, compliance, and employee relations

• Lead case strategy, supervise matter teams, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders

• Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and develop defensible case themes

• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and drive effective hearing and mediation preparation

• Provide practical counseling designed to align legal guidance with business objectives

• Support practice development and client relationship growth in Texas

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location:

Texas (Houston market)

Schedule:

Hybrid, in office 4 days per week

Compensation:

Base salary range: $225,000 to $300,000

REQUIREMENTS

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

• Active Texas bar admission in good standing

• Partner-level experience in labor and employment law, with management-side defense work

• Strong employment litigation skills, including motion practice, discovery, and deposition work

• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver practical, business-aligned advice

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• A meaningful portable book of business and interest in expanding client relationships in Texas

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Annual billable hours target: 1,850
