Purpose Responsible for the movement of material through the fab for their respective toolset. This includes wafer handling, and processing wafers on semiconductor tools. Responsibilities Trainee and Level I Follows documented work standards and process specifications Processes wafers through various computerized equipment, such as chemical baths, furnaces, film deposition, metal evaporation, and photolithography Carefully handles and transports product Visually inspects wafers and die for defects Enters equipment control data, completes logs, and forms verifying data Assists in staging material and setting up next shift for success Other related functions as assigned Level II All of the Trainee/Level I responsibilities Provides technical support in the form of troubleshooting, diagnostics, adjustments, repair, modifications, assembly, and calibration of equipment according to specifications, blueprints, manuals, or written instructions Supports engineering with timely communication on results, issues, and bottleneck management Troubleshoots issues to diagnose root cause and recommend appropriate temporary and permanent solutions Maintains accurate logs of work performed, modifications, calibrations, and adjustments Level III All of the Level II responsibilities Initiate lot starts at the direction of the Lead or Supervisor Required Qualifications Trainee High School or equivalent Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook Able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, focused, and organized Results oriented Level I All of the trainee-level required qualifications 1+ years hands‑on semiconductor Fab operations/manufacturing experience Level II All of the trainee-level required qualifications 3+ years hands‑on semiconductor Fab operations/manufacturing experience Experience with at least one 8” or 12” semiconductor tool functional areas, such as etch, CVD, CMP, cleans, photolithography, or metrology tools Able to effectively process wafers in a flexible development environment Experience with specification (SPC) systems and controls Level III All of the Level-II requirements Experience with at least two 8” or 12” semiconductor tool functional areas, such as etch, CVD, CMP, cleans, photolithography, or metrology tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences Fundamental understanding of all technical aspects related to production Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Trainee Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline Hands‑on work experience in a manufacturing semiconductor environment Experience in an R&D semiconductor environment Familiarity with 8” or 12” semiconductor tool platforms such as furnaces, etch, CVD, CMP, cleans, photolithography, and/or metrology tools Level I All of the Trainee-level requirements, and: 3+ years of hands‑on work experience in a manufacturing semiconductor environment Experience with specification (SPC) systems and controls Experience in an R&D semiconductor environment Experience with three 8” or 12” semiconductor tool platforms, such as CVD, etch, CMP, cleans, photolithography, or metrology tools Level II All of the Trainee-level requirements, and: 5+ years of hands‑on work experience in a manufacturing semiconductor environment Experience in an R&D semiconductor environment Experience with specification (SPC) systems and controls Experience with five 8” or 12” semiconductor tool platforms, such as CVD, etch, CMP, cleans, photolithography, or metrology tools Level III All of the Trainee-level requirements, and: 8+ years of hands‑on work experience in a manufacturing semiconductor environment Experience in an R&D semiconductor environment Experience with more than eight 8” or 12” semiconductor tool platforms, such as etch, CVD, CMP, cleans, photolithography, or metrology tools Salary Range Trainee: $18.50 + depending on qualifications Level 1: $20.35 + depending on qualifications Level 2: $25.50 + depending on qualifications Level 3: $27.00 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished) May work around chemical fumes May work around standard office conditions May work around biohazards May work around chemicals May work around electrical and mechanical hazards Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity (ex: using a mouse) Climbing of stairs Frequently in a stationary position, often sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods (2 hours) Frequently viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods (2 hours) Constantly walking around the Fab for prolonged periods (6 hours) Frequently required to push and/or pull 50+ lbs objects, such as carts loaded with FOUPs Frequently required to lift 25+ lbs and regularly carry that amount short distances (50 ft) Occasionally required to reach, bend, squat, and stoop to handle consumables or chemicals May often require repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Frequently required to handle items using small ranges of motion (e.g., fingers and hands) and large ranges of motion (e.g., full-arms and shoulders) for carrying cassettes and lot boxes Work Shift Shifts: Mon – Fri, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift to start, then a compressed schedule of 7 12‑hour days out of every 2 weeks.
