CNC Machinist

Job Description Job Description The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to detailed engineering plans and specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints and geometric dimensions, maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safe and efficient machining operations. The machinist plays a key role in maintaining workflow continuity through clear communication and meticulous documentation. Responsibilities * Plan machining by analyzing work orders, blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications * Program CNC machines by setting instructions, tool registers, offsets, and proving part programs * Set up CNC machines with appropriate tools, attachments, and chucks ensuring precise alignment * Load stock materials and verify machine settings through first-run part inspections * Maintain part quality by monitoring processes, taking measurements, and troubleshooting malfunctions * Sharpen and replace worn tools adhering to quality assurance and safety protocols * Document production timesheets and communicate shift continuity including irregularities and needs * Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment Required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * 1 - 2 years of experience operating and programming 3- and/or 5-axis CNC machines * Ability to pass drug test and background check in compliance with the law Preferred Qualifications * 1+ years in CNC machining * GD&T interpretation * Blueprint reading * Machining operations * Tool setup and calibration * Quality assurance * Troubleshooting skills * Understanding and adherence to safety procedures * Effective communication * CNC setup expertise
