Surgery Scheduler

Regional Hand Center is growing and has a new opportunity for an experienced SURGERY SCHEDULER. This at‑will, full‑time position is a part of a supportive, interactive team. The selected candidate will be responsible for scheduling emergent and routine surgeries, and for maximizing the efficiency of the ambulatory surgery center staffing and resources while ensuring superior quality of care for patients, families and internal customers. Responsibilities Scheduling Surgeries Scheduling pre‑ and post‑operative appointments Interfacing with patients, surgeons, staff, referring providers, departments, adjusters, vendors, etc. Obtaining insurance authorizations or pre‑certifications Prior Experience / Qualifications Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) HST/NextGen Prior experience with insurance verification and preauthorization Familiar with medical clearances as they relate to surgical patients Familiar with referrals, authorization, pre‑certifications, and eligibility Experience with patient financial counseling and collecting out‑of‑pocket expenses from patients and families Demonstrated excellent organizational, customer service, professional written and verbal communication skills Bilingual – English/Spanish Required Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent Minimum of one year of surgery scheduling experience Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience MA certification Job Type Full‑time (M‑F) RHC is a California at‑will, equal opportunity employer offering a friendly, engaged work environment, and competitive benefits.
