About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Development to lead its private philanthropy strategy and drive the organization's fundraising efforts. This role is pivotal in translating the company's growth direction into a comprehensive, measurable plan, and requires a leader with a proven track record in building and strengthening fundraising programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for refining and implementing a multi-year philanthropy strategy, managing a diverse team, and ensuring that fundraising is integrated across the organization. Essential duties include leading the development team, building a culture of stewardship, and personally managing a portfolio of major gift relationships. The Vice President will also be expected to partner with various leaders to create and execute fundraising strategies, and to represent the company with credibility and enthusiasm. Candidates for the Vice President, Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 10-12 years' fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to balance enterprise leadership with hands-on execution, and a strong focus on relationship management and stewardship. Experience in a mission-driven organization and a proven ability to work with Salesforce are essential. The ideal candidate will have a growth and sales mindset, be adept at coaching and developing staff, and have a strong understanding of current fundraising practices. The position requires a high level of adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
