Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process. This position is responsible for journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting support, sales tax compliance, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is looking to expand their accounting expertise while contributing to a stable and growing organization.

Worksite Location: Cottage Grove, MN - Onsite opportunity.

Salary Range: $80K - $90K/yr. base salary + bonus.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end and year-end close activities.

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Manage multi-state sales tax filings, payments, and compliance requirements.

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and internal reporting packages.

• Analyze financial results and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to documentation requests.

• Collaborate with operations and other corporate departments to support accounting and financial initiatives.

• Provide ad hoc accounting and finance support as business needs arise.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Self-motivated professional with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
