Direct Counsel is seeking a Capital Markets Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.
Location: New York, NY
Position Type: Associate (Lateral)
Experience Level: 2–5 years
Direct Counsel is partnering with a global law firm to identify a mid-level associate for its Chambers-rated Capital Markets practice. This is a strong opportunity to work on sophisticated structured finance transactions alongside a highly regarded team with decades of market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent purchasers, sellers, servicers, creditors, and borrowers in structured finance transactions
- Advise banks, financial institutions, private equity funds, hedge funds, and public/private companies
- Draft and negotiate primary transaction documents, including:
- Purchase and sale agreements
- Servicing agreements
- Financing documents
- Manage transaction processes and coordinate closings
- Communicate directly with clients and counterparties
- Collaborate with deal teams to execute complex transactions
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of law firm experience in structured finance or capital markets
- Experience with securitization and structured finance transactions preferred
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar
Compensation:
- Salary range: $235,000 – $365,000 (based on experience)
- Bonus eligible with a comprehensive benefits package
