Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across various age groups, including neonates, children, and adults. The therapist will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and management of respiratory health.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed.
• Perform airway management and bronchoscopies, including assisting with complex interventions in high-acuity settings.
• Manage ventilators, including conventional and noninvasive ventilation methods.
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results for clinical decision-making.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding respiratory therapies and devices.
• Participate in rounds with interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient care strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all patient safety and care standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are mandatory.
• A minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in respiratory therapy, with at least two (2) years in acute care settings.
• Experience in a comparable-size medical center with a minimum of 500 beds and Level 1 Trauma Center designation is preferred.
• All licenses and certifications must be valid throughout the duration of the contract.

Additional Information

The Respiratory Care Services team provides critical care support around the clock for patients with various respiratory conditions. Care includes routine oxygen therapy as well as advanced therapeutic interventions for critically ill patients. All services are conducted in compliance with institutional policies and industry standards.

Travel duties may require floating to other areas based on operational needs. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing patient care situations are essential for this role.
