Sr. Data Engineer

Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain healthcare data integration solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Build and support data ingestion pipelines for healthcare, claims, provider, and member datasets.
- Implement and maintain integrations leveraging:
- HL7 v2.x
- FHIR (R4 preferred)
- X12 EDI transactions
- Develop mapping and transformation logic between HL7, FHIR, and enterprise data models.
- Create and optimize Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, and Data Lake pipelines.
- Support healthcare interoperability initiatives and API-driven data exchange platforms.
- Collaborate with business, clinical, payer, and IT stakeholders to define data requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI, healthcare security, and governance standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing platform support on an ad hoc basis.
- Participate in solution design, code reviews, and data quality validation activities
Skills :
- Strong expertise in Apex programming.
- Strong experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)
- Strong experience with HL7 v2.x messaging
- Experience converting or mapping HL7 to FHIR
- Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability frameworks and standards
- Working knowledge and experience with HIPAA X12 transactions including:
- 837 Claims
- 835 Remittance
- 834 Enrollment
- 270/271 Eligibility
- 276/277 Claim Status
- 278 Prior Authorization
