Overview The Department of Social Work at Rutgers University‑Newark seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track, calendar‑year Instructor of Professional Practice to serve as the Assistant Director of Practicum Education. Remuneration Minimum salary: $85,588. Final salary offer will be determined by qualifications, experience, and department or grant funding, and will consider market benchmarks and internal equity. Instruction will involve courses related to practicum or practice coordination, using reflective and competency‑based instructional approaches that integrate students' practicum experiences with professional expectations. Some evening and Saturday availability is required. The successful candidate will strongly identify with the purposes and values of the social work profession, understand social work education, and possess broad knowledge of social work practice. Anticipated start date: August 1. Qualifications Minimum Education & Experience: MSW from a CSWE‑accredited school of social work Experience teaching social work courses at the college level Minimum three (3) years of post‑MSW professional practice experience At least two (2) years of experience serving as a practicum instructor with SIFI certification Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Preferred: Social work license.
