Patent Agent

Overview A law firm seeks a Patent Agent to join its intellectual property team in Herndon, Virginia. Responsibilities Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. patent applications. Review and revise foreign patent applications filed in the United States. Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions and conduct examiner interviews. Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and clients throughout the patent prosecution process. Manage multiple matters while maintaining accurate time records. Requirements Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline. 1 - 5 years of experience preferred. Experience with semiconductors and/or wireless communication technologies is a plus. Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline. Certifications Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Skills Technical writing and analytical skills. Problem-solving abilities.
