Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with complex GI surgeries General Med/Tele skill set including basic cardiac rhythm interpretation Ability to manage various types of drains and tubes Medication management experience for IV fluids and cardiac drips Description: We are seeking a MedSurg/Tele RN to join our team. The facility is a Level I Trauma Teaching Client with various special designations. The unit has 36 beds and serves complex patient populations. Patient ratios are generally 1:4-6, with the potential for increased ratios during surge staffing. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex GI surgeries and trauma overflow. Required skills include trach care, peripheral IV starts, chest tube management, and NGT placement. Telemetry monitoring will be conducted by nurses, as there are no designated monitoring techs. RNs may be required to float within the region to other facilities as dictated by patient needs. Travelers will be paid for the time spent traveling between facilities if floating mid-shift. Weekend rotations are required, and travelers are expected to work a percentage of holidays. RTO requests for up to six days off, excluding holidays, can be accommodated with adjustments to the end of the contract. Scrub color is navy.
