Security SupervisorLegends Global, the leader event and facilities management, has an opening for a Full-Time Security Supervisor at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. The Security Officer participates in the day-to-day functions of promoting and ensuring both security and safety in the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland and the Global Center for Health Innovation. The Security Officer provides direction, safety and security for any event related activity as required.1st Shift 7AM- 3:30 PMPay: $17.17/HREssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSecures premises, personnel and guests of the facility by patrolling property.Maintains a safe and calm environment through crowd control, monitoring of facility cameras, challenging and removing those who are uninvited or do not have business with the facility.Confidently maneuver through facility to complete duties, security checks, or emergency situations.Communicate, greet, and provide information or directions to all guests in a courteous and helpful manner.Conduct and document routine property walks around the building that will include:Patrol Service Corridors and employee break roomsPatrol Mechanical and electrical rooms to assure doors are lockedPatrol Event Halls and Pre-function AreasControl flow of truck and vehicular traffic during move in and move out on loading dockPerform routine patrols inside and outside perimeter roundsRestrict access to non-event personnel or employeesDirect people and trucks to relevant event placesLocks and unlocks facility doors during routine patrols and upon requestControl access and exit from the facilities loading dock and perform vehicle screening prior to entry or exit.Responds to emergency situations, including but not limited to appropriate use of CPR and/or AED.Complete detailed reports on activity during shift and maintains daily log of activities through computer modules and software programsOperate and monitor computerized fire alarm and surveillance camera systems as required.Operate and control facility command center.Maintain constant radio communication with Command Center.Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma/equivalent required.Minimum 6 months security experience preferred.OPOTA Certification beneficial but not required.CPR, First Aid, AED (obtain and maintain through employment as necessary)Maintain a valid drivers' license or have willingness and ability to obtain for required equipment operationSkills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English language.Outstanding interpersonal skills: must display utmost customer service to all clients, guests, and employees.Ability to maintain confidentiality as necessary regarding the Company, events, clients, co-workers and all related matters regarding such parties.Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills: accuracy is essential.Ability to work and function both independently and in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use sound judgment in emergency situations.Ability to perform duties efficiently under emergency situations, and to make firm decisions during emergencyMust have excellent critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and address the most critical and pressing demands first.Successfully perform different tasks at once and comfortably switch gears at a moment's notice.Ability to clearly instruct others on processes and follow-up, as necessary.Demonstrated ability to operate motorized vehicles.Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, which could include overtime, evenings/nights, holidays, weekends, or emergency call-in services as dictated by business need or event activity.Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Surveillance (CCTV) Skills, preferred but not requiredPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsThis position requires the duties be completed in both indoor and outdoor environments ranging from both quiet and noisy atmospheres. This position is exposed to outside weather conditions and temperature changes, adverse weather conditions, dust, dirt, cleaning agent odors, heavy crowds of people, and other working conditions expected within a public forum.
