Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night rotating shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30 / 19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of permanent experience in the specialty License: Permanent Ohio license or compact license required Certifications: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have Must have 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for. Must have required certifications actively in hand at the time of submission. Description The candidate will work in a step-down unit providing care for patients post-thoracic surgery. There is potential to float to other units with similar patient populations. Shifts may vary to meet the operational needs of the facility. Traveler must work at least every other holiday. An ECG rhythm recognition test and a medication management test will be completed during orientation; a passing score is required. The facility mandates that travelers must not have any open cases on background checks and must not have any license-related issues. Nurses exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements will be temporarily honored until further notice. All other travelers must be nicotine-free and pass a drug screen within 12 months prior to starting. Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return for a year after leaving previous assignments. Candidates may extend their contracts for a maximum of 18 months, with a required 6-month break afterward. Annual competencies are required for those who remain on contract for a minimum of 12 months. Modules completed pre-start and annually may vary in time needed by specialty. Required additional time beyond 4 hours for annual modules will not be billable.
