Maintenance Technician 1 Location: Kansas City, MO, US, 64106 Role Summary The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and ad‑hoc maintenance on a variety of machines within a production facility under supervision from subject matter experts and facility leadership. The role requires building a detailed understanding of assigned equipment to ensure safety and efficient repair support, aligned with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Key Role Responsibilities – Core Review schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documentation to determine maintenance and repair needs Repair or replace worn or broken parts within machinery as necessary Follow all manufacturer‑specified and internal safety guidelines Perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner to minimize impact on production operations Collaborate with the Production Team to diagnose performance issues with machinery Understand production processes and material flows Update maintenance documentation accurately to ensure maintenance schedules are followed Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner Effective verbal and written communication skills Follow up on inquiries promptly Identify common manufacturing materials and equipment Build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally Education High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) Apprentice and/or vocational/technical/trade training (Preferred) In lieu of the above, equivalent relevant experience will be considered Experience 0‑2 years of experience conducting repairs, maintenance or installation of manufacturing equipment in an actively operating manufacturing environment (Required) Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop (Required) Experience conducting repairs on complex machinery (Preferred) Working Environment Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold) Maintenance facility environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise and exhaust fumes Must be willing to work non‑traditional hours to meet business needs May require working overtime as needed Must have reliable transportation May require use of a respirator Must be comfortable working at projected heights and in narrow workspace Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling, balancing Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screen Benefits Information The benefits package for this position is Professional Non‑Union.
