Commercial Loan Processor Lawton, OK, US 26 days ago Requisition ID: 2465 City National Bank and Trust Job Description: Commercial Loan Processor Department: Loans Status: Full-time Position Summary The Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for owning and driving the execution of the commercial loan pipeline from application through funding and renewal. This role ensures loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and within defined service standards. This role is essential to the bank’s ability to grow commercial lending efficiently and responsibly. By ensuring loans are executed quickly, accurately, and without friction, the Commercial Loan Processor directly contributes to: increased loan production capacity, improved customer satisfaction, enhanced operational efficiency, and reduced risk and errors. Responsibilities Own and actively manage an assigned pipeline of commercial loans from application to funding Track status, identify bottlenecks, and drive the timely progression of all files Ensure no loan stalls due to lack of follow-up or coordination Maintain clear visibility of pipeline status for lenders and leadership Loan Processing & Documentation Accuracy Prepare, review, and verify all loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance Ensure proper execution of documents including loan terms, rates, structures, and required disclosures Maintain a zero-defect mindset to minimize rework, audit findings, and funding delays Own exception tracking and resolution process across assigned loans Proactively work with lenders, credit, and customers to clear outstanding exceptions Prioritize renewals and high-impact loans to ensure timely completion Turnaround Time & Throughput Management File review turnaround Documentation preparation Funding readiness timelines Effectively manage workload to handle expected loan volume and deadlines Pre-Closing & Post-Closing Quality Control Conduct pre-closing reviews to ensure files are complete and ready for funding Perform post-closing reviews to validate documentation accuracy and compliance Identify and correct issues before they impact audit or servicing Communication & Coordination Serve as central point of coordination between lenders, credit, operations, and customers Provide proactive status updates and escalates issues when necessary Ensure all stakeholders are informed—no surprises in the process Contribute to a fast, efficient, and seamless loan experience Support lenders by reducing friction and enabling faster deal execution Help deliver a consistent “WOW” experience through speed, accuracy, and communication Process Improvement & Efficiency Identify process inefficiencies, documentation issues, or system gaps Recommend and support improvements to workflows, systems, and procedures Leverage technology to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and legal requirements Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information Protect the bank from operational, regulatory, and documentation risk Performance & Accountability Metrics Success in this role will be measured by: Turnaround Time: % of loans processed within defined SLA Pipeline Throughput: Volume of loans processed and funded per period File Accuracy: Error rates, audit findings, and rework levels Exception Management: Aging of outstanding exceptions and resolution timelines Funding Efficiency: Time from approval to funding Lender Satisfaction: Internal feedback from lending partners Customer Experience: Speed and smoothness of loan execution Education & Experience High School diploma required; some college or relevant experience preferred Experience in commercial loan processing or banking operations preferred Knowledge of commercial loan documentation (DBAs, LLCs, Corporations, etc.) Strong Organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work independently while contributing to a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required) Work Environment & Expectations Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment Strong sense of urgency and ownership Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this position.
