Store Manager - Zales Outlet - Outlets at San Clemente

Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, builds lifetime relationships with customers, and delivers a best‑in‑class customer experience. Coaches and develops the store staff to understand brand image, and to consistently represent the brand in customer interactions, store visuals, and marketing. Supports and communicates the strategic relevance of corporate initiatives and executes corporate plans to produce desired results. Customer Obsession Ensures that team members and self deliver an exceptional customer experience at every interaction through training, customer outreach, communication and clear expectations. Empowers team members to resolve customer issues within established parameters and drives a high level of customer service through follow‑up and outreach. Compiles and follows up on customer requests. Critical Thinking & Innovative Action Attains sales projections and quotas, develops strategies to maximize personal and team sales potential while achieving goals. Observes operations to identify successes and opportunities for improvement, recognizes strengths, identifies root causes of problems, and coaches staff to address them. Reviews and analyzes reports to identify trends, opportunities, and available resources. Keeps management informed of market, merchandising, and payment programs of competitors and advises on new or changing merchandise and services, implementing initiatives that change behaviors to produce results. Typical hours aim for a five‑day, 40‑hour work week during non‑peak periods, with increased hours during peak selling periods. Combination of opening and closing shifts throughout the week, considering operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, proper store coverage, and time to coach, train, and develop the team. Position Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred. Required or acceptable retail sales experience: at least 3 years, or 2 years retail sales plus a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Preference for candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience. Preference for candidates who are Diamond Council of America (DCA) certified. Advanced communication skillset, both written and verbal. Proficient with computers, advanced proficiency in MS Office and related business tools. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective employee and customer relationships. Advanced presentation skills for team member training and customer presentations. Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills to support internal and external customers. Professional presentation via email, social media, video conference, telephone, and text. Ability to plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines and expectations. Ability to work independently without immediate supervision. Ability to set priorities and delegate effectively for team success. Ability to understand and thoroughly explain detailed information. Reliable and dependable. Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Demands Requires frequent communication, standing, reaching with hands and arms, and moving between display cases to handle merchandise. Also requires sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching as needed, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity is required to discern differences in gemstone quality. Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, extended hours, and may require travel including air travel and overnight stays. Compensation Base pay of $24.04 – $39.10 per hour, plus commission on sales. Final pay rate is determined based on experience and qualifications.
