Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Thoracic/Vascular Operating Room role requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Position within the OR Float Pool of a 1000+ bed, Level 1 trauma hospital
• 56-bed OR handling inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
• Thoracic/Vascular team assignment with proficiency in endovascular cases required
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Patient population includes transplant, trauma, and neuro cases; adult patients only, no pediatrics
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM with variable days based on unit needs
• No block schedule available; late stays required based on unit needs, with an average of four late stays per 13-week contract
• May float between OR units within the facility, but not between separate locations
• 36 hours per week over a 26-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Thoracic/Vascular surgical experience required
• Proficiency in both circulating and scrub roles, including endovascular cases
• Required certifications must be current and on file at time of consideration
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub duties for thoracic/vascular and other surgical specialties as part of a collaborative OR team
• Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays with limited time-off requests approved
• Orientation is offered on select dates only; candidates must be available for one of these sessions
• Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate under the facility's local/radius rate policy
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for standard travel rate eligibility
