Joybird Design Sales Associate

Job Summary This position is responsible for driving sales in Joybird’s showrooms. As a member of Joybird's Retail Sales team, this role focuses on delivering the best possible overall customer experience. Key Responsibilities Open and close the store, including management of store keys and alarm code. Perform other duties in the absence of management. Conduct daily sales reporting to retail leadership. Oversee the sales floor during high volume periods, support the sales team, and supervise to ensure financial goals are met and excellent service is provided to guests. Act as Lead Sales Associate, serving as a role model for sales generation and customer service and relentlessly delivering an exceptional customer experience. Maintain the showroom’s design and visual standards using merchandising guidelines. Grow and maintain a strong client base by building a personal clientele book and driving store sales through client follow‑up, phone calls, and personalized outreach. Create programs and initiatives with leadership to enhance customers’ experiences. Provide customer insights to product, marketing, and technology teams regarding needs and feedback. Listen to customer feedback and complaints, empathize, and present the best possible solution. Scope & Impact This role supports retail store financial performance. Store locations have annual sales targets between $5–8million. Minimum Requirements 2+ years of retail sales experience, with shift supervision experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. No travel required. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Requirements Passion for delivering a superior customer service experience. Aptitude for managerial responsibilities. Knowledge of the furniture industry. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative or team setting. Proficiency in Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal. Supervisory Responsibilities No direct reports, but responsible for managing situations when the Store Leader (SL) and Associate Store Leader (ASL) are unavailable. May mentor part‑time designers. Physical Demands / Work Environment Ability to routinely move objects weighing over 50 pounds and understand safety requirements. Compensation Base compensation range: $18–$22 per hour. Commission and bonus: Earn uncapped commission on written sales – 2% on all sales. Monthly bonus opportunity of $500 based on meeting specific individual sales goals.
