Surgical Tech I

Department/Unit: Operating Room Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $49,763.00 - $69,668.00 Hourly Range: $22.00/hr. - $28.75/hr. Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the team of practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the patient safety is maintained. Responsibilities This position may require on-call duties and rotating shifts. Maintain sterile field. Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed. Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintain sterility while scrubbed, maintain sterility of instruments and supplies. Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required 1-3 years of scrubbing experience - preferred Familiar with all specialty services - preferred CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire - required LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Upon Hire - required Thank you for your interest in Albany Med Health System!
