Overview
Operating Room RN (Travel) – Ortho/General OR with Da Vinci Xi experience in a hospital setting. Location: Rochester, New York. Start date: 08/17/2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,331–$2,452 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 4x10 Evenings. This travel assignment features a 14-bed OR unit with a broad surgical case mix and an expectation of travel-specific commitments.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care as the circulating RN across a broad surgical case mix, including ortho/total joint and trauma, neuro/spine, vascular, thoracic, GYN/urology, bariatric, plastics, and Da Vinci Xi robotic cases.
- Maintain the sterile field, assist anesthesia providers, position patients, perform instrument counts, and manage equipment and supplies throughout procedures.
- Monitor patient status and intraoperative events, ensuring safety, hemodynamic stability, and accurate documentation of perioperative events.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, scrub staff, anesthesia, and PACU to support efficient turnover, accurate specimen handling, and proper device and equipment setup.
- Float to other OR service lines as needed, participate in call responsibilities, and maintain 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratios as assigned.
- Provide effective postoperative handoff to the PACU and ensure appropriate charting and communication per facility policy (EPIC experience preferred).

Requirements
- Current NY RN license in hand to submit
- BLS certification in-hand; CNOR noted on posting (confirm requirement)
- Minimum 3 years RN OR experience; travel experience required; system may allow 1 year (discrepancy — confirm with account manager)
- Phlebotomy and IV insertion competency (mandatory)
- EPIC charting experience or demonstrated proficiency (note: posting shows conflicting notes; confirm with account manager)
- Ability to work 4x10 evening shifts; on-call required; ability to float to other OR service lines
