Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standard assessments and observational methods.
- Design individualized treatment plans tailored to meet short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver professional, one-on-one speech therapy focused on enhancing communication skills, language development, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing functionality.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to implement unified care strategies.
- Empower patients and families with education that supports therapeutic progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless treatment progression.
- Maintain accurate and timely records compliant with relevant state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative learning opportunities.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
