Work Environment

The position is based in a hospital facility in Santa Clarita, a vibrant community known for its robust healthcare offerings. The work environment is collaborative, with an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care that includes Physical Therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Your typical working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4 pm, providing a predictable work-life balance while delivering critical patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in conducting thorough evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and limitations.
• Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, focusing on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and balance.
• Provide hands-on manual therapy techniques, various therapeutic exercises, and modalities to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, which may include occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists, to develop and execute comprehensive care plans for patients.
• Educate patients and their families regarding home exercise programs, the use of adaptive equipment, and injury prevention strategies that foster independence and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and discharge recommendations, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and seek out opportunities for advanced certifications, keeping up with the latest evidence-based practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation. This includes individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, or chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be essential in developing tailored rehabilitation plans that reflect each patient's specific needs, enabling them to regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAPTE-Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Current and valid California PTA license, along with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Physical Therapy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for effective interactions with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, with an ability to quickly adapt to the unique requirements of diverse patient populations.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably with a focus on orthopedic conditions.
• Experience with electronic health record systems and familiarity with documentation and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.

Compensation and Benefits
