The Maintenance Technician performs general and preventative maintenance of all equipment, physical structures, and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards to protect the asset, ensure optimum operations and maximize guest satisfaction. Wall paper and carpet repair skills preferred. Skills and Ability to: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and complete routine reports and logs. Communicate effectively in a courteous manner with guests and coworkers and maintain positive guest relations at all times. Add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight, volume and distance. Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily activities. Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency. Manage one’s time in order to meet productivity standards. Education and Experience: Three years’ experience in building maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education. Previous experience in hospitality at a similarly sized property highly preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to see, walk, stand, bend, climb, balance, lift, carry, crouch, kneel, push and pull. Physical strength and manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform required duties.
