Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring Cerner experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• ospital-based Labor and Delivery unit, Handles antepartum, high-risk antepartum, L&D, LDRP, and mother/baby care
• Facility averages 100-200 births per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45-07:15
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Every third weekend required
• Candidates may float to all competent units within the facility
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• CPI certification will be required starting January 2026
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including Level 2 experience (charge experience preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required (Trauma Level I and teaching/community hospital experience preferred)
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Skilled in administration of blood/blood products, CVC/PICC line maintenance, peripheral IV starts, and high-risk medication administration (anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, oxytocin)
• Experience with newborn assessment, neonatal abstinence syndrome care, discharge teaching, and pain management (including epidural and PCA)
• Skilled in phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and isolation precautions
• At least one professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages, including high-risk deliveries and couplet care
• Support newborn care including car seat education, cord care, circumcision care teaching, and thermoregulation
• Assist with C-section procedures including circulating, scrubbing, and recovery care
• Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement/calibration
• Utilize baby-friendly protocols and support breastfeeding/lactation needs
• Unit scrub color is navy blue
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least one year to be eligible for return
• Required to complete facility HealthStream education modules prior to start
