Sous Chef

Established South Florida Hospitality Group — a well‑known hospitality group in Delray Beach on Jog Road — is opening Casalina, a fine dining Italian restaurant with an American accent. We seek a seasoned Sous Chef to manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations. The successful candidate will have a proven record of financial success in a stand‑alone restaurant and a passion for training and development. The sous chef serves as the second‑in‑command, directing and managing cooks and other kitchen staff, and stepping in when the executive chef is absent. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Assist with planning and preparation of food selections for daily service and special events. Oversee and manage kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Train and mentor junior chefs, providing guidance and support across kitchen tasks. Supervise food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, taste, presentation, and portion control. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to meet kitchen demands. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following sanitation regulations and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. Requirements Minimum of four years of experience as a chef in high‑volume dining establishments. Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative dishes. Proven ability to manage a team and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation standards. High level of creativity and ability to adapt to changing demands and preferences. Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating and inspiring team members. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
