About The Role

You’re the kind of Construction Project Manager who thrives in the field, works well alongside a Superintendent, and keeps clients informed and confident throughout the construction process.

You are organized, responsive, and comfortable managing the moving parts that happen once a project breaks ground. You understand that strong project management during construction means clear communication, accurate billing, proactive problem-solving, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You enjoy collaborating with the Superintendent to keep projects moving toward completion, while also serving as the primary point of contact for the homeowner on coordination items, updates, changes, and financial matters.

You’re calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and comfortable having direct conversations when issues arise. You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and understand that the ultimate goal is to deliver a successful project with as few surprises and unnecessary change orders as possible.

What You’ll Do

As Construction Project Manager, you’ll manage the client and administrative side of the project during the construction phase while working closely with the Superintendent to keep the project moving toward Certificate of Occupancy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partner closely with the Superintendent throughout the construction phase of each project.
• Serve as the primary client contact for construction updates, coordination items, questions, and issues.
• Provide consistent and proactive project updates to homeowners.
• Conduct field walks with clients at key stages of construction.
• Communicate schedule changes, construction impacts, and upcoming decisions clearly and professionally.
• Coordinate client selections, decisions, or information needed to keep construction moving.
• Prepare and manage owner billing throughout the construction process.
• Prepare, communicate, and process owner change orders.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and billing for accuracy and completion of work.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent to confirm completed work prior to approving subcontractor billing.
• Monitor project financials and identify billing or cost issues early.
• Maintain accurate project documentation in Buildertrend.
• Help resolve construction-related issues quickly and communicate solutions to the client.
• Support punch-list coordination, inspections, final documentation, and project closeout.
• Drive projects toward Certificate of Occupancy and final owner handoff.
• Proactively identify risks that could impact schedule, budget, or client experience.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means projects move efficiently through construction, clients stay informed, financials remain accurate, and the Superintendent has a strong Project Manager partner helping remove obstacles.

Your top priorities will be:

• Achieving Certificate of Occupancy as efficiently as possible.
• Maintaining strong, consistent client communication.
• Keeping owner and subcontractor billing accurate and current.
• Minimizing unnecessary change orders through strong planning, coordination, and communication.
• Resolving issues early before they impact schedule, cost, or the client experience.
• Maintaining clear documentation and accountability throughout construction.

Quarterly Key Performance Indicators

You’ll be measured against clear KPIs tied directly to successful project delivery. Actual quarterly targets may vary based on project load and construction stage.

Examples include:

• Receive Certificate of Occupancy on X projects per quarter .
• Maintain owner billing within established timelines.
• Complete subcontractor invoice review and approval within established timelines.
• Maintain accurate and current Buildertrend documentation.
• Keep owner change orders within established company targets.
• Complete required client field walks and project updates on schedule.
• Maintain projects within approved construction schedules or document corrective action when delays occur.
