Yard Parts Puller

Parts Handler Pay $17-$19 hr DOE. The Parts Handler is responsible for performing day‑to‑day activities of the Production Yard or Warehouse in accordance with current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility. This position may be directed by the Production/Yard Leader to assure that the parts are handled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner. Essential Job Duties Safely maneuver around the yard or warehouse. Find / retrieve parts. Package parts for delivery / prep. Complete any paperwork involved with the parts. Pull work orders. Use hand tools and power tools to remove parts from cars. Operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) or order picker. Pull and prep all sheet metal and other orders. Tag all parts properly for the destination. Communicate with Sales and Dispatch. Maintain a positive and friendly attitude and appropriate behavior during work hours. Maintain cleanliness in the work area. Assume other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Not responsible for supervising employees. Minimum Requirements Education & Experience High School Diploma / GED. Preferred Requirements A working knowledge of automotive parts. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; read and interpret graphs. Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Basic oral communication; ability to write brief messages and keep simple records. Problem solving for routine, somewhat repetitive tasks following clear directions and procedures. Decision making that generally affects own job or assigned functional area. Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines for completing work activities; works closely with supervisor/manager who provides broad guidance. Prioritize assigned and routine tasks; handle appropriately. Essential Physical Demands / Work Environment Occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; on certain occasions up to 100 pounds. Possible exposure to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment; work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles; may need to get into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE); may be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays, contingent on position requirements. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
