Business Development Market Research Associate (Part-Time) Location San Francisco, CA; Full Remote Pharmatech Associates (PAI), a USP company, is a leading life sciences consulting firm with over 30 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies. We provide expertise in CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls), Quality Systems, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Compliance to help clients bring therapies to market efficiently and successfully. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Research Associate to support our sales and business development team. This is a part time role (up to 10 hours per week) and is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in market research, business, consulting and sales. You will gain hands‑on exposure to how consulting firms identify opportunities in the life sciences industry and how strategic business development pipelines are built. What You'll Do Research pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biosimilar, generic, OTC, and CDMO companies aligned with PAI's service offerings. Build and maintain targeted prospect lists for business development outreach. Identify key decision-makers across Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and CMC functions. Track industry intelligence including: FDA approvals and regulatory milestones Clinical trial progress Funding rounds and investor activity Manufacturing expansions and facility builds Mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships Develop structured company profiles and summarize key business insights. Support CRM data organization and pipeline development. Monitor industry news, conferences, and events to identify potential opportunities. Assist with special research projects supporting sales strategy and account targeting. What We're Looking For Current student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or recent graduate. Strong internet research and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects. Interest in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry. Hands‑on experience supporting business development initiatives, including market research, prospecting, and pipeline development. Foundational understanding of CMC, Quality Systems, Regulatory Affairs, and broader drug development and manufacturing processes. Training in market intelligence and competitive research methods, including how consulting firms identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities.
