Our Company:Jule is a Toronto-based all-in-one solution provider of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Electric Vehicle Fast Charging (EVFC). Using its patented battery & power/energy management technologies, Jule has been delivering successful projects over a wide range of industries, including community energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and microgrid development. Role Overview: The Accountant is responsible for ensuring that accounts and financial data are processed accurately. The accountant duties include bank and credit card reconciliation, accounts payable, cheque runs, vendor communication, payroll processing, financial reporting, and various other duties to support the finance team. The accountant will be reporting to the Accounting Manager. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation:Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank and credit card accounts in Canadian and U.S. dollars. Ensure reconciliation reports are stored on the X: drive and maintain a comprehensive filing system with all supporting documentation. Update the cash float daily and verify that all transactions are supported by receipts. Accounts Payable and Vendor Management:Input bills into QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring they align with Purchase Orders and Packing Slips, and record vendor information, including currency, pricing, and HST. Proactively address and resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors. Conduct cheque runs twice a month and maintain an up-to-date schedule of cheques issued in both CAD and USD. Manage and organize the accounts payable vendor filing system. Payroll Administration:Process payroll on a biweekly basis, ensuring accurate accounting for vacation time, overtime, and lieu time. Reconcile and file all necessary payroll remittances, including WSIB and EHT documentation, in a timely manner. Financial Reporting:Prepare and submit various financial reports on a monthly basis, including Sales, Prepayments and Deposits, Intercompany Transactions, and Commissions. Meetings and Collaboration:Attend weekly production and engineering meetings to stay informed and provide financial insights. Additional Support:Assist with shipping and invoicing tasks as needed. Perform reception duties and other ad-hoc assignments to support the finance department. Key Deliverables: Monthly reconciliation reports are due by the 15th of the following month. Weekly Accounts Payable Aging Details are required before each cheque run, with submissions on the 15th and the end of each month. Payroll must be processed biweekly, with payroll remittances filed at the end of each month. Monthly financial reports are due by the 15th of the following month. Additional tasks as required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Currently enrolled or pursuing CPA Designation is an asset. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, mainly QuickBooks. Proven Accounting experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Familiarity with financial statements. Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures. Working under tight timelines. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills for effective vendor relations. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The expected annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $65,000 , with final compensation determined based on skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.
