Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
Fenix Staffing is seeking a dependable and motivated Diesel Mechanic Helper to support our maintenance team in the repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance of diesel trucks, forklifts, trailers, and other equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who is eager to grow their skills in a hands-on environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist diesel mechanics with inspections, repairs, and maintenance of diesel-powered equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Assist with parts inventory, organization, and shop housekeeping.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support mechanics with additional maintenance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working with vehicles, equipment, or machinery preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a shop and outdoor environment.
