Finance (Sponsor Finance) Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)

Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level Finance Associate Attorney with 3–6 years of experience to join a leading law firm’s Finance Practice Group.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience handling sophisticated finance transactions at a top-tier law firm, with a focus on representing private equity sponsors, private companies, and other borrowers in secured lending matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent private equity sponsors, private companies, and borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions.
• Handle secured transactions , particularly acquisition financings and refinancings.
• Work on complex, fast-paced financing matters from structuring through closing.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practices and offices to deliver practical, client-focused solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Contribute to firm and practice group initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of finance experience at a top-tier law firm.
• Significant experience representing private equity sponsors, private companies, and/or borrowers in secured transactions.
• Strong experience with acquisition financings and refinancings .
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly and concisely.
• Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a collaborative approach.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• California Bar membership required.

Compensation

For positions performed in San Francisco, the stated annual salary range is $260,000–$390,000 , with additional compensation potentially including discretionary bonuses and benefits. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and other factors.
