Child & Online Safety Expert for AI Training [Remote]

Help shape AI safety tools that better support young people navigating mental-health risks online. This remote contractor role applies clinical, crisis-care, and digital child-safety expertise to build evaluation frameworks, guidance, and safeguards for vulnerable youth. Your real-world expertise will inform how AI systems recognize, assess, and respond to youth mental-health and online-safety concerns. The work focuses on building a robust safety evaluation framework for digital crisis care and risk assessment.

• Apply subject-matter expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems.
• Develop taxonomies covering self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependency in digital settings.
• Set best-practice standards for digital support and clinical safety in youth and adolescent mental health.
• Create frameworks to detect, flag, and assess harmful online content or advice related to mental-health crises involving minors.
• Design and refine clinical response rubrics and escalation protocols for at-risk people in digital environments.
• Work with project leads to ground benchmarks and guidelines in current research and clinical best practices.
• Provide expertise on CSAM-adjacent policy and online exploitation dynamics to strengthen child-safety protocols.
• Deliver clear written and verbal feedback that informs the development of AI safety tools and frameworks.

• Background in child safety, CSAM-adjacent policy, teen safety, crisis care, and mental health.
• Licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or mental-health professional with direct crisis-care experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of focused work in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating-disorder intervention, or a related field. Senior contributors with 8 to 20 years of experience are welcome.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical risk assessment and intervention in online or digital settings.
• Advanced degree, specialized certification, or equivalent operational experience in mental health or child safety.
• Experience evaluating or implementing CSAM-adjacent policies, or contributing to child online-exploitation prevention initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex information clear for varied audiences.
• A credible record of impact in clinical, crisis-response, or safety-evaluation communities.

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• No previous AI experience is required.

$50 to $90 per hour.
