About the Role
Our client is seeking a Real Estate Attorney with strong title experience and the ability to support both commercial and residential operations. This role works directly with the CTO and the VP of Commercial Services and is ideal for an attorney who brings underwriting awareness, examination exposure, and the ability to operate across multiple departments. This is an attorney role with CTOâlevel interaction , supporting underwriting questions, commercial transactions, and high level title operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the CTO by assisting with underwriting questions on commercial and residential files
- Review, draft, and negotiate real estate contracts, closing documents, and legal instruments
- Provide legal guidance on commercial and residential real estate transactions
- Support title operations by reviewing commitments, resolving curative issues, and advising escrow teams
- Collaborate with examination, underwriting, and commercial departments to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Communicate with lenders, agents, buyers, sellers, and internal staff to ensure smooth closings
- Conduct legal research to support transactional and title matters
- Maintain compliance with state and federal real estate regulations
- Represent the company with professionalism and strong client service
Required Qualifications
- Five years plus of real estate law experience
- Strong background in real estate transactions
- Title experience required
- Active license to practice law in the state
- Ability to support both commercial and residential title operations
- Strong communication and client interaction skills
- Ability to manage multiple files with accuracy and urgency
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Underwriting or examination experience
- Experience working directly with title companies
- Familiarity with curative work, title review, and underwriting communication
- Experience supporting escrow teams or closing operations
- Ability to operate between departments including CTO, commercial, and examination
